So this backroom blog experiment has been sorely neglected over the past few months as we’ve been busy launching our new music licensing blog at Burst Labs. It’s an integral part of our new production music library website, and we hope you’ll all drop in and say “hi.”

Be sure to let us know what kind of music you’d like to license for your productions, as we’re able to take requests now and enjoy being challenged with widely diverse styles and crazy cross-genres of music (think Indie Bolivian Worship Techno).

Making music for a living is hard work. Whether we’re pitching a soft drink ad or making records, it still takes a lot out of us… though considerably more so when the client is present in the studio.

Sometimes a little Guitar Hero goes a long way when we’re in a creative rut and looking to break out of it.

This has got to be the most complete and utter bastardization of not one, but two american icons, Kermit the Frog and Johnny Cash. And I mean that in the best way possible.

I don’t think it would be difficult to convince that I have more than a little geek in me. I like books about the origins of everyday things, discussions on the theological ramifications of LOTR, and I do enjoy a rousing 24-hour Final Fantasy bender. What REALLY excites me, though, is the music of the Nintendo Entertainment System.

And on that note…

Audio Overload is a cross-platform .NSF player (among other formats). What is an .NSF, you ask? An .NSF is a Nintendo sound file, extracted from the original game cartridge in all its 8-bit glory.

“But Matt, now that I have the player, how do I go about procuring these .NSF files for my own listening enjoyment?”

Well, young grasshopper, you could be a good little web denizen and Google them, or you could just rely on me to hand them to you.
